The challenges
Watmores considers large value claims to be an intrinsic part of the service we provide to the insurance industry. Our team of lawyers have the knowledge and skills required to deal with claims arising from serious physical and psychiatric injuries, including those involving injuries to the brain and spine.
It is of paramount importance in dealing with these claims that the issues involved are fully understood. Our lawyers are therefore trained to a high level and can appreciate the mechanisms of a brain injury and how this impacts on every part of a claimant’s life.
Our ethos
Choice of expert is crucial and at Watmores you can be sure that you will be directed to the right expert for the case. You can expect proper analysis of medical evidence with concise advice on reserve, valuation and the way forward at all stages in the claim. We do not produce reports regurgitating the content of medical evidence but will highlight the important issues and provide a sensible strategy for settlement.
We consider rehabilitation should be involved as early as possible and targeted to the specific areas it is required and at all times co-operation with the claimant is crucial. By adopting a consensual approach we consider that we are more likely to be able to retain control of the rehabilitation process, so ensuring that we get the result we want and keeping up the momentum of a claim.
Currently we have at Watmores several cases reserved at in excess of several million pounds, the most high profile of which in recent years has been Horton v Timothy Evans and Lloyds Pharmacy Ltd.
