In relation to public liability, Watmores have extensive experience in all aspects from the duties owed to the public or employees of others on construction sites, to slips and trips on a highway or visitors to a business premises and the provision of care to patients, particularly to the elderly or disabled in care homes run by the NHS, local authorities or by the private sector – we have represented all.

We have lawyers skilled in handling complex, technical and challenging product liability claims and have dealt with claims arising from a wide range of products from a variety of industries including pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, food and manufacturing. Recent cases have involved the defective printing on the cans of a well known global soft drink manufacturer and the successful defence of a claim that deficiencies in the volume or purity of helium gas caused the failure of a balloon business.

Watmores take a pragmatic approach to public and product liability claims and will consider, where appropriate, settlement of a claim from a member of the public and then attempt recovery actions.
